Well, if you have found this website, and have been reading up on what’s been offered up so far, you’ve quickly learned that I am supplying you with the tools and information you need to start modding NR2003.
However, you’re not going to get very far without using some sort of 3d modelling program. I give you 3D Studio Max 8. Why 8 when there are so many newer versions of Max? It’s pretty simple really, in order to make a mod for NR2003, you’re going to have to export your 3d models to a “.pas” format. Someone was kind enough to make a plugin for 3D Studio Max that allows that to happen. But, he made it a long time ago when 3D Studio Max 6 was the latest greatest version out there. Luckily, the plugin still works for newer versions up to Max 8.
Along with providing you with Max8, I have provided in a zipped up folder with 2 essential plugins to help your journey into modding NR2003.
One plugin provided has the ability to export your model into an “.x” format. That’s right, it will take any model loaded up and export it so that you can now use it in Carviewer. This is huge when it comes to “texturing” your 3d models for your mod. You can simply open up carviewer, load up whatever 3d model you are currently trying to make look pretty with your 2d artwork ,and with a simple keystroke, click refresh, and you can watch your work take shape much quicker.
The other plugin is for exporting your 3d models to “.pas” format. If you have learned anything at all about making mods, you know you’re not going to get very far without having .pas files to complete your mod.
I’m not going to spoon feed you. You’ll have to do some research on your own to understand how important these files are that I am providing you with. Maybe one day, I’ll make a post that just might spoon feed you and help you understand just what all this stuff means and how it all ties together to make a mod for NR2003.
In the meantime, enjoy your new adventure into mod making.

I forgot to mention, the x file plugin has many newer versions you can use depending on what version of 3D Studio Max you are using. I think the most recent version goes up to 3D Studio Max 2012.
